We have decided to temporarily close our doors during these delicate times.

It is unfortunate that this decision had to be made, as it is our pleasure to serve you, but our number one priority is to keep our staff and customers safe. We appreciate all the love and loyalty you have shown us these past couple of weeks. We are anxiously awaiting our return so that we can continue to provide the quality service that we pride ourselves on.

We hope you all stay safe & healthy and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing you back soon!

Bill’s Townhouse is a new restaurant in a familiar space, opened in the Spring of 2016 by a team of folks who were longtime admirers of its inherent charms.

Throughout a near-century tenure (and few incarnations), the three-story restaurant  at 57 E 54th St has seen its fair share of history & reinvention. There is something special about Bill’s that lends itself well to preservation, even in the cutthroat and unpredictable world of New York City dining trends and real estate. It’s rare to find a restaurant that feels so comfortable in its own right and place -  so written into the lore and landscape of a neighborhood that it seems it has always been at that address.

(Or in simpler terms, it’s hard to find a place that feels legitimately protected from a future as a Duane Reade or Chipotle.)

Today, Bill’s Townhouse serves Classic American Cuisine in the heart of Midtown and is kept up and running by a staff who strive to maintain an understated and unobtrusive sense of hospitality and service.

Piano in the Tavern

Every Saturday Night 6-9 PM

Featuring: Some of New York's best young pianists and singers reinvigorating a near century-old tradition in an iconic room. Playing a mix of old standards, classic soul, and vibrant originals.

"Hidden within the heart of midtown Manhattan and nestled in a bonafide three-story home, Bill's Townhouse is a real-life relic. Bill's allows diners to recall a New York of yesteryear—both through its nostalgic setting and classic American cuisine. Guest pianists and singers only amplify the restaurant’s old-school feel."
